Summer Pahl embraces the positive change playing at the University of Waterloo with familiar TC Thunder Alumni.

“Playing with girls I used to play with during my high school years is something that I love…It feels comfortable being back here. I am allowed to be myself and feel accepted and heard.”

In her fourth year of Honours Psychology striving for Honour Roll, Pahl is also managing her opportunity as a shooting guard/power forward for the Warriors eager to come back from injury.

“I have learned over time and going through various injuries to advocate for yourself…Understanding that there are levels to an injury and the feelings associated with such injury is valid.”

She urges her TC Thunder community to consider,

“Advocat[ing] for yourself and your overall health…Take the injury as a time to revamp and learn, because growth after an injury is extremely important.”

In spite of COVID’s recent impact on the Warrior’s season, Pahl is aspiring to contribute to a playoff position and bring home a championship.

“We were very hopeful for the remainder of the season and I know that we all were enjoying fans and just playing as a whole…We are doing things to say connected through Zoom and we are training at home trying to stay ready for when we can play again.”

With her eyes on pro play overseas, Pahl is also equipping herself with the tools to one day find her place in the medical field as a nurse or as a sports psychologist.
