Prior to regular season play, the Tri-County Thunder program supported a cause close to home. During the Tri-County Prep game at Woodland Christian High School a young athlete, Ella, was celebrated after a injury that occurred during the season’s playoffs at an OBA tournament. Her injury left her unable walk and she and her family endured months of hospital visits, some of which were south of the boarder.
To support the family a donation was taken up towards any outstanding medical costs.
She was excited to receive basketball memorabilia from the Toronto Raptors as well as become an honorary Tri-County Thunder JUEL member.
Ella’s mother had shared that throughout her recovery her desire to play basketball again would continue to motivate her throughout the stages of her recovery.
The Tri-County Thunder program thanks all who were able to donate and support the family.
